Name of Service: National Consultant- Support for implementation of innovative and sustainable pilot agricultural practices.Project: Financing Agrochemical Reduction and Management in Lao PDRCountry: Laos Description of the Assignment: With guidance from the Department of Agriculture, Ministry ofAgriculture and Forestry and UNDP, the consultant is expected to deliver the following: i. Project Implementation Support. Support the identification and selection of pilot sites and beneficiaries based on established criteria.. Develop detailed work plans andimplementation strategies for pilot activities.. Provide technical advice on sustainable farming practices including but not limited to Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and organic agriculture.. Conduct a SWOT analysis for the implementation of innovative and sustainable pilot agriculturalpractices.Support the development of partnership alliances for implementing innovative and sustainable pilot agricultural practices . Ensure effective coordination between government agencies, farmers, and other stakeholders. ii. Capacity Building and Stakeholder Engagement. Organize and conduct demonstrations and training sessions for farmers, extension workers, and local authorities on good agricultural handling of agrochemicals, and alternative sustainable practices. .
