Description:
Expression of Interest are invited for Interconnections and Power Trade Options with Lao PDR. Publication Date: 2/28/2024 12:00 AM EST EOI Deadline: 3/13/2024 11:59 PM EDT Description: The firm will be hired to carry out study to identify critical investments, explore commercial arrangements and help facilitate consultations on power trade with Lao PDR. The study will undertake the necessary transmission planning study to identify critical new interconnections and upgrades to existing interconnection points, while also taking into account the signed/planned power purchase agreements (PPA) for cross-border trade and in-country transmission grid constraints. The commercial arrangement analysis will provide guidance and initiate discussions on which power market model would be most appropriate to facilitate and ensure efficient and credible trading of power between the three countries. Consultations would be held with the World Bank as the moderator in roundtable format, and consultants will provide material for such discussions.
