Tenders are invited for Consultancy to Build the Capacity of Hi Medics and Community Focal Points on Basic First Aid and Trainer of Trainers. Humanity & Inclusion (HI, formerly known as Handicap International) is an independent and impartial aid and development organisation with no religious or political affiliations operating in situations of poverty and exclusion, conflict and disaster. We work alongside people with disabilities and vulnerable people to help meet their essential needs, improve their living conditions and promote respect for their dignity and fundamental rights. Since the organisation was first founded in 1982, we have set up development programmes in 62 countries and responded to many emergencies. HI has been operating in Laos since 1996, started with the national UXO impact survey following with providing Technical Assistance to the national clearance operator/UXO Lao, implanted Road Safety project, Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) project, project to improve quality of medical rehabilitation services, Early Childhood Development through hospital-based screening, provided support to DPOs/Local Inclusive Development, support NCDE to develop disabilities National policy, strategy and action plan and project related to Economic Empowerment of people with disabilities. Currently HI is the only Mine Action Operator in Laos implementing a wide range of activities (clearance, survey, EO risk education, victim assistance, and advocacy) and supporting the countries in the region to develop specific Victim Assistance national standards based on the new IMAS 13.10.
